2.1 Information You Provide

When you register and use the Platform, we collect the following information:

Account Information: Full name, email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), phone number (optional, Egyptian format validated), profile picture, and preferred language (English or Arabic).
Profile Information ("Need a Room"): Gender, age, employment status, employment field, university, smoking preference, pet preference, bio, maximum budget, move-in date, bedroom/bathroom sharing preferences, preferred roommate gender and age range, preferred languages, and preferred locations (governorates, cities, districts across Egypt).
Profile Information ("Have a Room"): Room description, allowed gender, age preferences, pet/smoking/visitor policies, apartment details (size, rooms, bathrooms, property type, location, existing residents information), apartment features, room features, monthly price (in EGP), insurance amount, and move-in date.
Photos: Profile pictures, apartment photos (up to 10), and room photos (up to 13 per room). Uploaded images are processed (resized, converted to WebP format) before storage.

2.2 Information from Third-Party Login

If you sign in using Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the respective provider. We store your provider user ID to link your social account with your EzRoomy account.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics (Google Tag Manager) to collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, time spent, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location. This data helps us improve the Platform.
Session Data: We use server-side sessions to manage authentication state during the OAuth login flow and admin panel access.
Local Storage: We store your authentication token and language preference in your browser's local storage for session persistence.
